From Juan Escobar in Residential Life & Explorations
Dear Sutton Students:
Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings announced non-essential travel and safety measures, effective today, Thursday, March 26 at 11 p.m. through April 9 at 11 p.m. to help slow the rate of spread of COVID-19.
Rollins and Winter Park are located in Orange County, Florida. Therefore, all Sutton students are advised to “STAY AT HOME” and continue to work and attend classes remotely. Only essential travel for basic needs, physical activity, and work is allowed. So while you may not yet consider Sutton home, the order is to Stay in Sutton!
A few reminders about what is critical during the Stay At Home order. You may recall that Penelope Strater reviewed all of these as possibilities in her meeting with you. A few reminders:
- Food service will continue as is. It is possible that in the upcoming weeks we may not be able to provide prepared food. In preparation for that possibility, we are asking that you review your access to pots, pans and kitchen utensils. It may become critical for you to have those items. If you have concerns about not having those items please email email@example.com by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
- No visitors are allowed in Sutton at any time. Failure to comply with these directives will result in loss of housing in Sutton, and CSR will charge the students involved.
- The Sutton Pool will remain open for current Sutton residents ONLY. You may use the pool and dock, but you may not have guests. If you are utilizing the space and non-residents enter please ask them to leave and/or call Campus Safety and report the concern. Additionally, the pool may not have more than 10 students at a time. Failure to comply with these directives will result in the closing of Sutton pool, and CSR will charge the students involved.
Orange County and the College urges all residents to continue monitoring their personal health and practice social distancing, maintaining at least 6-foot distance between yourself and others whenever possible. “Stay At Home” is intended to keep people in self-isolation for 14 days.
In the event that you are having flu like symptoms please notify the Wellness Center via Denise Snyder, Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. Denise Snyder: 407-628-6340 or firstname.lastname@example.org
