Level 2, Partial Activation: Hurricane Ian Update – September 27, 2022

We continue to monitor Hurricane Ian. At this time, you should be finalizing your hurricane plans, as shifting paths may affect when the storm will impact Central Florida.

While we still plan to close the Rollins campus at 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, we encourage students to leave campus as soon as they are able in order to get to where they plan to stay during the storm in a safe and timely manner. As a reminder, residential halls will close at 4 p.m.

Rollins Dining’s hours for Wednesday are as follows:

Marketplace: closing at 2 p.m.
Fox Lodge Café & Grill: closed
Fox Lodge C-Store: closing at 5 p.m.
Cornell Café: closed
Bush Café: closing at 2 p.m.
Dave’s Sushi: closed
Dave’s Boathouse: closed

There will be no in-person classes Wednesday, September 28, through Friday, September 30. Faculty will assign makeup work.

The Hume House Child Development & Student Research Center will be closed Wednesday, as it follows OCPS closures.

Orange County shelter information can be found here.

We will have a ride-out team monitoring Ian’s effect on campus, and will communicate that information when damage assessment is completed.
